World's shortest war

Wow so you learn something new every day... So anyways my guild is working on that critter kill achievement today and so while waiting on the bugs to re-spawn in my spot I've been wondering around on the net reading random stuffs... Anyways did you know the worlds shortest war lasted only 38 minutes!


So the shortest war in history was the Anglo-Zanziba war. It was between Zanzibar and England on 27 August, 1896, between 9.02 and 9.40 AM. Zanzibar surrendered after 38 minutes The origin of the war is basically Zanzibar (then a territory of the British Empire) wanted to elect one Sultan as their leader, and the British wanted another guy. Well so "war" broke out and lasted a whole 38 minutes and it is very startling that in those long 38 minutes Zanzaibar had 500 casualties while only one British sailor was injured before Zanzibar surrendered.

I don't see how this could be counted as a war... seems more like a riot or resistance that ended badly but 100 years later we some how view it as a war so yet another victory to the British :3
