Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

So a couple of days ago Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered... It follows Agent Phil Coulson (yes the same guy that ended up dead in the Avengers...) So basically going to try to not spoil anything for those who have not gotten a chance to watch it yet...

For those who are still stuck on the "but Coulson is dead" bit... And are trying to work out how this show is possible (is it before the Avengers movie? Is Coulson a clone... robot... zombie... S.H.I.E.L.D experiment maybe?) just watch and see :)

So first off the first episode was pretty good... Explosions, action and pretty much what you would expect of Joss Whedon..

So basically something happens and some guy (FYI not an Avenger) steps in to save someone (trying not to have any spoilers, sorry) and so now S.H.I.E.L.D. is trying to track this guy down... So they are chasing this chick who may know who this gifted one is...

Yep I said gifted one... Though Marvel owns all things Avengers and X-Mex the word “mutant” will not be used in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now the reasoning for this is actually quite simple... And sadly it has nothing to do with differences in universe or whatever...

There’s a database that’s tailored to our show with the properties we can use as well as the properties that are owned by other studios and things that are flagged for major franchises. There are certain areas we can’t go because we don’t want to step on the toes of the movies. We’ve had free reign. There are certain rules in terms of the Marvel brand. Marvel is very focused on being grounded — and it is our world with the one twist that they’re superheroes. There’s no Metropolis, there’s no Gotham. It’s New York City and Chicago, and in the cinematic universe the process of powers is pretty young. They say it’s only been a couple years since Iron Man in terms of our timeline in the universe. So the idea in our world that powers exist is new to the population and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s job description. It used to be keeping those things secret and that has now changed, so we’re dealing with some of that.

Yep the reason we won't be hearing the word mutant or be seeing some of our other favourite Marvel characters is money... Until those studios that own the rights can come up with some kind of agreement we the fans just have to learn to deal with it...

Anyways though other than that little issue the show was good and I urge those who have not seen it yet to go watch it right now! It aired on abc and since Disney loves it's fans so much they currently have the full episode on the ABC website ( http://watchabc.go.com/marvels-agents-of-shield/SH55300807/VDKA0_xbsx0pri/pilot )
